Open Technology Business Center

The Open Source Lab is working closely with the City of Beaverton's Open Technology Business Center to help bring new open technologies to market faster.

The OTBC's mission is global but they are located in Beaverton, Oregon - a key area of innovation for Open Technology. IBM and Intel have global Linux competency centers located nearby and the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) is right there. Linus Torvalds, the founder of Linux lives here. The O’Reilly open source conference for developers (OSCON) is held here. Oregon has deep embedded Linux and open source expertise and a robust talent pool in innovative technologies.

Many of the projects hosted at the Open Source Lab are seeking ways to find ways to commercialize their solutions or more importantly provide services around their projects in order to generate revenue for their non-profits. By working closely we can cater to both the non-profits and the for-profits and build a thriving eco-system where projects can grow responsibly over time.
